Fruit fillings can be bought in a can or made easily from fresh or frozen fruit. The fillings we used in your crepes were made from frozen fruit, sugar, and cornstarch. Heat these ingredients in a saucepan until mixture bubbles and thickens. (Water or fruit juice may be added as needed.) Recipes are available online. Here is a recipe for homemade apple filling: Easy Apple Filling Ingredients: 4 medium apples, peeled and chopped 2 tablespoons butter 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 2 teaspoons cornstarch mixed with 2 teaspoons water In 2-quart saucepan, heat apples, butter, brown sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch slurry to boiling over medium-high heat. Reduce heat; simmer about 5 minutes or until thickened and apples are tender. Set aside to cool slightly. We will be in the kitchens on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week.

We'll be in the kitchens on: Tuesday, 3/12, to make grilled cheese sandwiches and quesadillas & Thursday, 3/14, to cook eggs. We made s'mores bark in class.
We carefully melted chocolate chips in the microwave (30 second intervals) and folded in mini-marshmallows and crumbled graham crackers. We spread the mixture on a parchment covered sheet pan and refrigerated until hardened. Try this with nuts or some of your other favorite treats. You can also dip big marshmallows or pretzels.
